What is Your favorite Bond Car Chase?

Choosing a top five car chases from the 20 Bond films is not an easy task.  Each has it’s own merits from the now hysterically funny view of Sean Connery’s over acting and facial contortions in the first film to the spectacular ice chase in film number 20.

I love the gadgets, the jumps, the crashes, the explosions and the surprises but it’s also the humor that keeps me glued to the screen.

What do you look for in a good car chase scene?

For my son, it’s the explosions…

Friends have commented on the actual stunt driving and the maneuvering of the car.

Others may love the crashes…

Car Stunts – Nobody does it better than Bond

For the final video in the 5th Gear Bond series we get a behind the scenes look at the famous ice chase scenes from Die Another Day.

It’s amazing to see what goes into the filming of these scenes.  It’s also amazing to consider how many cars were destroyed in the making of this film.

These scenes also had a higher than average danger level not only for the drivers but for the film crew as well.  Filming in such harsh conditions can present it’s own unique brand of hazards.

One of my favorite Bond moments has to be the chase through the ice castle.

Aston Martin to Die Another Day...

With BMW’s three picture coming to a close and Ford Motors now in control of Aston Martin, the Producers of the 20th Bond movie, Die Another Day reunited Bond with the car that had started it all 40 years prior.

This time it was the Aston Martin Vanquish that graced the film.  And as usual it was a Q-tricked model.

Looking for a new take on the standard car chase scene, the film makers choose a beautiful Iceland location perfect for the “car ballet on ice”.

Audiences again embraced the Aston Martin but this time the Aston had a revile in the sleek and sexy Jaquar.  Both cars became hits.
