Best Car Documentary Film – Funny Car Summer

Ok, so the editing wasn’t the greatest and the camera work sucked, but this 1974 documentary gives us a behind the scenes look at what racing use to be about before the big sponsers took over.

The movie chronicles the trials and tribulations of  Dunn family as former fireman Jim Dunn makes an attempt at joining the Funny Car circuit with his rear engine 73 Cuda.

I must admit I’m a bit prejudice when it comes to the 73 Cuda.  It was my big brother’s first car and a favorite of mine.  The first car I ever raced was my brother’s 73 Cuda and the memories of that car are still some of my favorites.
