Introduction of the Bond BMW Z3

The security surrounding the production of the Bond movie, Golden Eye in 1995 wasn’t to keep the ladies away from star, Pierce Brosnon but rather to keep prying eyes away from the new BMW Z3.

The car was to make it’s debut with the release of the latest Bond movie.  A very smart move on the part of BMW who had stolen the opportunity away from Aston Martin.

The car was a world-wide smash hit with over 300,000 sold in it’s first year.

Unfortunately, the security was so tight and filming so limited that we never got to see all of Q’s gadgets in action.

But, BMW made up for it by providing sixteen 730′s for the release of Tomorrow Never Dies.  The production made good use of all the vehicles…  None survived.   The filming of the famous remote controll car chase required the cars be gutted and a driver was crammed into the car with three video screens.
